The 24-year-old Venezuelan Juan Yepez has a mediocre home-run total for a first-year player. He was signed as an international free agent in 2014 and was traded to St. Louis in 2017 in exchange for Matt Adams. Despite his high-average power, Yepez did not hit more than 10 home runs until 2021. The Cardinals ranked Yepez as the sixth-best prospect in their organization by MLB Pipeline. He plays both outfield and corner infield and possesses above-average speed.
