Paul Blackburn

While many players laud Tyler Blackburn as an underrated starting pitcher, the A’s haven’t given the rookie enough credit. While he was drafted by the Chicago Cubs in 2012, Blackburn was traded twice before finding a home in Oakland. Prior to the trade, he had a 5.74 ERA in 138 innings. But after being acquired by the Athletics in the Sean Manaea and Chris Bassitt trade, Blackburn has been a revelation, posting a 1.70 ERA and a 1.01 WHIP in 47.2 innings.
