The Kansas City Royals have signed free agent right-hander Taylor Clarke to a one-year contract. Clarke, 28, spent the last three seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks. He was non-tendered by Arizona on Tuesday. In 2021, he pitched exclusively in relief, posting a 4.98 ERA in 43.1 innings. In Kansas City, he is expected to pitch out of the bullpen. In his career, Clarke has a 4.99 ERA over 171.1 innings of major league baseball.
