The Houston Astros announced that first baseman Yuli Gurriel will start Saturday’s game against the Texas Rangers. The team said that Gurriel is taking a “physical day” ahead of the Rangers’ Kyle Cody. After 0-for-4 against the Mariners on April 20, Dusty Baker indicated that the first baseman would be taking the day off. Gurriel helped lead the national team to the 2006 World Baseball Classic. He finished the tournament with 0.273 power.
