The Oakland Athletics have sent out relief pitcher Domingo Tapia to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday. After a scoreless first outing, Tapia allowed four runs and six hits over one-third inning against the Red Sox. In a corresponding move, the Athletics selected Jared Koenig to start the game in Atlanta on Wednesday. While Tapia will likely start only one game in the majors, his potential to become a valuable mid-to-late-inning option has been analyzed.
