A free agent signing has come as a welcome surprise to the Washington Nationals. After missing the 2012 season because of concerns regarding the COVID-19 protocol, Sanchez has decided to return to Washington and be a part of the rotation. Sanchez is expected to be the Nationals’ Opening Day starter. His 11-8 record with the team was a strong start to the season. He also pitched well in the postseason, posting a 3-0 record with the Nationals’ World Series championship.
