While a pitcher with a proven track record is a risky gamble, the Pittsburgh Pirates did get their money’s worth by signing Josh VanMeter. Although the Pirates have struggled at the plate, their bats have turned in some nice performances recently. While they did manage to score 10 runs on Wednesday, they have been sluggish at the plate. They will face three tough tests out west with games against the Dodgers and D-Backs.
