The Oakland Athletics have included left-handed pitcher Zach Jackson on their Opening Day roster. The Oakland native has been a surprisingly consistent performer over his minor league career. In two starts, Jackson has allowed one earned run on two hits with a walk and two strikeouts in two innings. Jackson was one of three non-roster invitees selected to make the team. In his first major-league start, Jackson yielded an RBI fielder’s choice to Josh Lowe. In his career, Jackson has not struck out many right-handed hitters.
