The Oakland Athletics have made the move to call up Luis Barrera to their major league roster after Billy McKinney was designated for assignment. Barrera is quickly establishing himself as a key part of the batting order. Although Barrera has been limited to a few ABs in April, his batting average and OPS are leading the Athletics through May. The Athletics are still evaluating Luis Barrera’s role in the lineup, but his recent success will make it easy to justify keeping him in the lineup for a while.
