After making his major league debut last August, James Kaprelian has become a mainstay in Oakland’s rotation. The team improved to 9-4 last month and has already reaped the benefits of a remade pitching staff. Kaprielian has thrown 44 four-seam fastballs at 93 mph while mixing in 22 sliders, two curveballs and 12 changeups. In his first major league start, Kaprielian struck out four and walked just one. He also celebrated the home run by Matt Kemp.
