Isiah Kiner-Falefa

In a report earlier this week, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported that the Yankees were closing in on a deal for Isiah Kiner-Falefa, the Texas Rangers’ shortstop. The Rangers’ general manager Brian Cashman cited Kiner-Falefa’s confidence as a primary reason for the interest. Though he wouldn’t be a top-tier shortstop, Kiner-Falefa’s defense would be an upgrade. He has appeared in 158 games, and his slash line is.273/.316/.361 over the last two seasons.
