On Thursday, Nogosek was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse, and he will return to the big leagues on Friday for the doubleheader against the St. Louis Cardinals. Nogosek has pitched in the big leagues once before this year, pitching three scoreless innings against the Nationals on May 11. He struck out three and walked two over that span, but he was unavailable for more than a day due to a minor injury. In a corresponding move, the Mets called up Jake Reed from Syracuse.
