Tanner Scott

The Miami Marlins desperately needed swing-and-miss relievers. The current bullpen consists largely of sinker-type throwers who rely on soft contact to get their pitching numbers up. In 2022, it would be almost unheard of to have a full bullpen comprised of swing-and-miss pitchers. However, GM Kim Ng recognized the need for swing-and-miss relievers and made the move to acquire Sulser and Scott. Possibly a minor injury to Dylan Floro was a motivating factor, but Scott and Sulser instantly became two of Miami’s top swing-and-miss pitchers.
