The Angels picked up Stassi as part of a minor deadline deal with the Houston Astros last year, but the catcher didn’t produce much in his first 20 games in the majors. Over the past two years, Stassi has enjoyed a late career breakout, rapping nine extra-base hits in 105 plate appearances. Though those numbers are highly inflated due to a small sample size, Stassi’s performance continued throughout his largest body of work last season.
