The Colorado Rockies recently promoted a high schooler from the minors to the big leagues, and it was a left-handed pitcher. While Gilbreath had never pitched above Advanced-A ball, he pitched well in his first two major league starts. Gilbreath attended Legacy High School in Broomfield, Colorado. There, he played for head coach Ty Giordano. His success spurred the Rockies to choose him.
