Luke Maile was signed by the Cleveland Guardians in a split deal during the offseason. He has played in 231 games for the MLB franchise since 2015. In that time, he has thrown out 29% of base stealers, which is second best among all backstops in the AL. While the backstop is not expected to be in the lineup all season, his return may provide an opportunity to start at third base, or even serve as the backup catcher to Austin Hedges.
