The Orioles are experimenting with different pitching combinations and the signing of Keegan Akin could be a key step in their rebuilding plans. Akin is a highly versatile reliever who is capable of opening games, generating run support, and closing out games. In fact, Akin has already pitched two innings or more in 11 of his first 11 appearances, making him the first reliever in the Orioles’ history to do so. His 0.78 WHIP is very impressive and he has allowed only one hit in seven games. While Akin is more of a deep-league player than a starter, he can be a streamer in head-to-head formats.
