Shortstop Nick Ahmed has not yet been seen in a game this season, despite being cleared to play in extended spring training. Earlier this year, Ahmed had to sit out two weeks after suffering an inflammation in his right shoulder. Since then, he has been dealing with soreness and pain in the shoulder, which he first developed in extended spring training. Although there is no set timeline for Ahmed’s return to the diamondbacks, he has begun taking at-bats at the extended spring training complex in Scottsdale, Arizona. Ahmed is expected to return to the Major League club sometime in the first half of 2021.
